Arthur and the Mythical!

If you had ever been to England you would know that it???s not a very happy place. Just down the street from the park there lives a man, and he???s not just an ordinary man for he was and a mythologist. He lived with his daughter in a small house. He loved to write about magical beings and he started his own book. His name is Arthur and his daughter???s name is Lily. Every morning Arthur and Lily would go for a walk down the street to the park, but this one day they couldn???t because Lily had come down with a mysterious illness, so ill that Arthur thought she might die. So he went to his study to find his journal and look to see if there was a remedy in it but when he got there the diary had been stolen and in place of it were tiny droplets of ink leading to the far side of the room. Arthur followed them until they disappeared into a hole. He went outside to see if the hole went straight through the house. It did. He followed it till he came upon a fairly large tree with a small opening at the bottom. He peered in and saw the most amazing sight. It was a tiny creature that had purple hair, tiny whiskers and rags for clothes. He waited outside till the little creature was awake. Finally the little creature woke up and saw Arthur sitting outside of his house. After Arthur introduced himself the little creature told him that his name was Samice and that he only took the book because it looked pretty. They both went back to Arthur???s house to try and see if there was any remedy, but there was only a clue. It read ???If at once you need a remedy try to find me in Casidi.??? Neither of them knew where Casidi was so Samice went over to the hole and went through it. He was gone for about half an hour then all of a sudden he was back again with a map. They looked all over the map, every now and then they would think that they had found it but it was only a mountain. Finally they found it. The next morning they set off to find Casidi. When they got there they heard the slight sound of singing far off in the distance. Then all of a sudden a pixie danced out from behind the trees and started to sing. Then the singing stoped and the pixie started to talk.

???Hello, my name is Susan and this is the land of Casidi. Would you like a remedy??????

Then Arthur and Samice croaked ???Yes.???

So the little pixie ran away and came back with a potion to help with Lily???s illness. When they had all said there good buys the two went back home. When they got back Arthur went into Lily???s room to give her the potion but when he got there he found her lying on her bed with his journal on her lap. Lily had passed away during her last hours of the day.

Banana and choc chip muffins

Ingredients (serves 12)

  • 60g butter
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup (200g) Nestle Dark Choc Bits

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200??C. Line a medium muffin tray (12 sections) with paper cases. Melt butter in a small saucepan or heat-proof bowl in the microwave. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Sift flour into a mixing bowl. Stir in sugar. Make a well in the centre of dry ingredients.
  3. Using a whisk, lightly beat milk, eggs and butter in a jug. Add to dry ingredients, along with mashed banana. Using a wooden spoon, gently mix ingredients until just combined. Stir in choc bits. Don’t beat the mixture or the muffins will be tough.
  4. Spoon the mixture evenly into the muffin cases. Bake for 20 minutes or until firm on top when lightly touched (get an adult to help with this). Leave in the tray for 3 minutes. Transfer the muffins to a rack to cool.
